This was good. I realized that I listen to less music too. Because of the XM, Ipod and the like. I only listen to what i have already recorded or what on the list you spoke about while my children are controlling car radio. Keep reaching out...we can not allow our selves to build a prison of our on confort and control...

Uh oh, how about the Ricohans? They didn't even merit a mention. I'm pretty serious about getting the R8 very soon.

I very fondly remember my first trip to Boomtown. Your parents laid out one of the finest Southern breakfasts I've ever eaten. We also had a great BBQ.

My condolences.

Hola.

I'm currently on a Burden Brothers kick. It's strange, as I get older, my musical tastes are trending harder. Unfortunately, I'm also the father of a 4-year old, and as such, I'm required to listen to much Kid's Stuff on Sirius. Most of it is good - They Might Be Giants, Trout Fishing in America, Schoolhouse Rock - but there's also a fair amount of Wiggles. They make me want to drive my car into a large oak tree. And Barney brings about a darkness that frightens me.

Yes, Music Man was a joy to be around and I was honored to know him. Like CBuck and the rest of his family, Music Man was giving, kind and always willing to share. Not only did he share his music, but also his time, home and spirit with those around him.
Here's to Music Man!

I've had similar problems with new vinyl, but it was a bit more pervasive. Not with the number of LPs I've had problems with, but the fact that it seemed to be an entire run of a pressing. I went through several albums, a James Brown record, and each sounded like complete garbage at the front of the record and improved toward the center but not enough to call it good. Each of the three I tried did the same thing. We played a few more of the same record in the store and again they were the same. Now, I'll admit, the records I've had trouble with were from smaller companies and may not have had any kind of QC program, but it's still disappointing especially when I have to drive all the way to Amoeba to buy and/or exchange. Luckily, it hasn't happened very often, just with two records that for now I'll live without.

I really want to hear these speakers. How do they match up with standard bookshelf speakers in the same or similar price range?
